This made-for-television adaptation of Lanford Wilson's play stars the vastly underrated Kevin Bacon as a troubled young man named Alan, who's desperately trying to come to terms with his abusive, hardscrabble upbringing. This touching drama, which is set in California in the late 1950s, also features a stellar performance from Bacon's real-life wife, Kyra Sedgwick; Casey Affleck, in his feature film debut, portrays Jerry, Alan's stepbrother.
 Parents strongly cautioned. Some material may be inappropriate for children under 13.
