Cabbie and compulsive gambler Jay Trotter (Richard Dreyfuss) promises his long-suffering wife, Pam (Teri Garr), that he'll give up betting on the ponies -- a vow that lasts until he gets a tip on a sure thing, puts down his last $50 and wins. Before you can say "daily double," Trotter parlays his winnings into a bundle ... but how long will his hot streak last? Jennifer Tilly co-stars as a buxom ditz in this breezy comedy.
