When Elaine (Alexandra Pigg) wanders into a 1980s Liverpool discotheque with a friend (Tracy Lea), it doesn't take long for her to hit it off with Peter (Peter Firth), a Russian sailor who's come ashore for the night with a fellow seaman (Alfred Molina). But when the morning dawns, Peter must ship out -- which means leaving Elaine behind. Now, her only hope is to write a letter to Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev asking for them to be reunited.
