After his wife dies, disconsolate Lansford Ingalls (Arthur Hill) accepts an invitation to live with his son Charles (Michael Landon) and his family in this two-part episode of the heartwarming television series based on Laura Ingalls Wilder's books. But a schism soon develops between Laura (Melissa Gilbert) and Lansford when she blames her grandfather for her beloved horse's injury and subsequent euthanization.
