Two impoverished grandmothers struggle to raise funds in the middle of a monsoon following a violent crime. While one (Anita Linda) needs money to bury her murdered grandson, the other (Rustica Carpio) must come up with cash to bail out her grandson, the suspect. Critically acclaimed at the 2009 Venice Film Festival, this poignant drama from the Philippines examines the social and judicial inequities of that country.
