Tracing the footsteps of ethnomusicologist Alan Lomax, this documentary explores Lomax's travels all over Europe to record folk songs by capturing ordinary people singing the tunes they know and love best. Colleagues and friends of Lomax discuss the work of the man who's been called the "Father of the American Folksong Revival." Pete Seeger, Peggy Seeger, Shirley Collins, Jean Ritchie, Peter Kennedy and others make appearances.
