The damage is much more than physical when once optimistic young athlete Bruce Pitchard (Malcolm McDowell) is injured and admitted to a care facility for the disabled. Bitter and resentful, he succumbs to self-pity -- that is, until he meets Jill, a fellow patient with whom he falls in love. Nanette Newman co-stars in director Bryan Forbes's compassionate romantic drama, which was nominated for two Golden Globes.
