Lotna

Directed by the legendary Andrzej Wajda, this allegorical drama follows the path of Lotna, a beautiful white mare who's part of the woefully outdated Polish cavalry during World War II. Cavalry Capt. Chodakiewicz (Jerzy Pichelski) first acquires the horse as he leads his squadron against the militarily superior German army. But after the captain dies in a fight, Lotna is passed among a succession of riders, each of whom is killed in battle.
