Jerzy Stuhr directs himself in four separate stories about people who don't know how to handle the love in their lives. Stuhr illustrates the ironic truths of human destiny as his characters -- a college professor, an army officer, a priest and a criminal -- struggle between career and love. Humorous and sentimental, this internationally acclaimed film was one of few Polish films in recent history to be both an artistic and a commercial success.
