College student Claire (Charlotte Ayanna) meets thief Jack (Adrien Brody) at a movie theater and is instantly attracted to his self-assured manner. Jack is captivated by Claire's virtue, and the two embark on a passionate (if terribly mismatched) romance. Claire teaches Jack about life and love and discovers that he's an aspiring writer. But Jack is alarmed by the newfound bond and soon shuns Claire, sending her spiraling out of control.
