A series of comedic subplots come together during a family's preparation for a young couple's (Bonnie Bedelia and Michael Brandon) marriage. The bride's father, Hal (Gig Young), is struggling to stabilize his teary-eyed mistress, Cathy (Anne Jackson). What's more, the bride's sister, Wilma (Anne Meara), has a nonexistent sex life; and the groom's father, Frank (Richard Castellano), waxes poetic. Cy Howard (Every Little Crook and Nanny) directs.
