Richard Burton stars in this drama as the cuckolded King of Cornwall, who falls for a priestess, Isolt (Kate Mulgrew). Smitten, he vows to marry Isolt and makes his nephew, Tristan (Nicholas Clay), ask Isolt for her hand in marriage on his behalf. But happily ever after isn't meant to be, as Isolt and Tristan grow enamored of each other instead. When Isolt mixes a potion that ties them in a bind that can't be severed, the king grows enraged.
