After a bungled robbery, small-time criminals Jimmy (James Nesbitt) and Rudy (Lennie James) are reunited in prison. Freedom beckons when the governor (Christopher Plummer) mounts an amateur staging of his self-penned musical and gets the inmates involved, providing the perfect cover for a daring escape bid. But Jimmy's leading lady (Olivia Williams) has captured his heart, and he must devise a new ending -- fast!
