Real-life husband and wife Eli Wallach and Anne Jackson portray truck driver Johnny Horton (Wallach) and cigarette girl Eadie (Jackson), who elope after a hasty romance. But after the wedding, the couple realizes they don't know each other very well. Soon Johnny's overbearing mother (Ruth White) becomes the third wheel in their marriage, threatening its fragile existence. Don Richardson directed this classic Broadway comedy.
