Simone Signoret shines as a retired lady of the night and Auschwitz survivor who earns a living looking after other prostitutes' children in this affectionate French drama, directed by Moshé Mizrahi. Taking a shine to an Arab boy named Momo (played by Samy Ben-Youb), the dying Madame Rosa (Signoret) attempts to guide her young charge away from a life of sin. This poignant film copped an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.
