George Bernard Shaw's satiric wit proves eternally relevant in this classic adaptation of his exceptional play. Barbara (Wendy Hiller), a stalwart member of the Salvation Army, sharply criticizes her group's sincerity, drawing the ire of her friends. Barbara has become disillusioned by the seeming avarice of her tycoon father (Robert Morley) but eventually sees the error of her ways and even falls in love with a quirky scholar (Rex Harrison).
