In this darkly comic tale about a novelist's heartbreak-induced descent into madness, things go from bad to worse when the young writer stops working on his political novel, fails to take his epilepsy medication and locks horns with a mime troupe. Director Cameron Pearson evokes French New Wave cinema's look and feel -- bowing to and lampooning it by turns. Cameron Diaz makes a cameo appearance.
