Popular Filipino actor Piolo Pascual stars in both segments of this double-bill film, inspired by two classics from that country: Ishmael Bernal's gritty 1980 drama Manila by Night and Lino Brocka's 1979 film noir Jaguar. In the "Day" portion of Manila, Pascual plays a drug addict who tries to reconnect with the people in his life. In the "Night" section," Pascual is Philip, a bodyguard for the mayoral family whose world is shaken by a shooting.
