Walter Burton (Bob Newhart) is running through his midlife crisis -- literally, after he meets Barrie (Leigh Taylor-Young), a sexy marathoner on a morning run. Captivated, Walter neglects his job and family as he decides to train for the New York City race just to keep pace alongside the alluring young jogger. Newhart's likable charm as the middle-aged marathon man provides the foundation of this lighthearted comedy directed by Jackie Cooper.
