Tackling highly controversial subjects -- including Maude's decision to have an abortion -- the series stars Beatrice Arthur as Maude Findlay, Edith Bunker's brash, liberal cousin, in this spinoff of Norman Lear's classic sitcom "All in the Family." Maude is an independent woman dealing with the challenges of living with her fourth husband, Walter (Bill Macy), her divorced daughter Carol (Adrienne Barbeau) and Carol's young son.
