San Francisco police commissioner Stewart "Mac" McMillan (Rock Hudson) and his amateur detective wife, Sally (Susan Saint James), keep their marriage unpredictable in the fourth season of this 1970s crime series. The McMillans' maid, Mildred (Nancy Walker), unwittingly puts her life in danger by serving on a sequestered jury, and Mac becomes a suspect in the murder of an anti-cop author.
