Me and the Colonel
(1958)|
Funnyman Danny Kaye turns in a nuanced performance, which earned him a Golden Globe, as Jacobowsky, a Jewish refugee fleeing Nazi-occupied Paris who finds himself in league with an anti-Semitic Polish colonel (Curd Jürgens). Will he help him escape? During their flight, Jacobowsky displays remarkable presence of mind and quick wit, qualities that prompt his bigoted companion to rethink his beliefs.
