Ashok Kumar and Asha Parekh star in this Bollywood classic. A firstborn son (Kumar) is abandoned for his grotesqueness and left to die. But fate has plans for him: He's soon adopted and eventually becomes a successful singer. Fame and fortune aren't enough, however, and he sets out to find his birth parents -- only to discover that repentance and reconciliation may not come hand in hand.
