Faith and science collide when Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby (John Nettles) and Detective Sgt. Dan Scott (John Hopkins) arrive in Midsomer Mere to investigate a bizarre murder that left its victim with scorch marks on his head. The situation grows stranger still when Barnaby and Scott learn that the townsfolk have the ability to see into the future, and Barnaby can't shake the feeling that he's seen one of them somewhere before.
