A young Peruvian man (Hernán Romero) inherits a rundown vineyard on the edge of the desert. Intrigued, he begins to sort through the ruined estate, a search that reveals, in flashback, the history of the house and its inhabitants. This intelligent work by director Armando Robles Godoy reveals the socioeconomic struggle in his adopted country of Peru and earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Foreign Language Film in 1973.
