In this anime adventure series set in the year 0079, the Earth Federation is losing its battle against upstart principality Zeon, thanks largely to its use of a humanoid fighting robot dubbed the Mobile Suit (MS). It's not until the federation comes up with its own MS prototype -- and an ace pilot to man it in the form of Amuro Ray -- that it can truly challenge Zeon's forces. But Zeon has a topflight aviator, too: glory-seeker Char Aznable.
