  (1930)
German-born Ernst Lubitsch directs this black-and-white musical romance about a reluctant bride-to-be (Jeanette MacDonald) who walks away from her groom and leaves him standing at the altar, only to find trouble in Monte Carlo. The fact that she's a countess and the man she left behind (Claud Allister) is a prince only makes her actions all the more scandalous. Jack Buchanan co-stars as the charming but duplicitous Count Rudolph.
