Curtis (Craig Benton) is a happily married man in his twenties who becomes despondent after being paralyzed in a construction accident. At the same time, 8-year-old Emily (Kyla Pratt) falls in love with the puppy that her brother has just begun training for a church project. While Curtis has lost his resolve to go on, Emily has formed a strong bond with her new four-legged friend. Will Emily be able to show Curtis that life is worth living?
