Filmed live at the 1982 Salzburg Festival, the Wiener Philharmonic and Opera Choir perform a version of Mozart's opera "The Magic Flute" specially adapted for children. Peter Schreier stars as Prince Tamino, whose quest to return Pamina (Ileana Cotrubas) to her mother, the queen (Zdzislawa Donat), results in true love. Christian Boesch created the adaptation from co-director Jean-Pierre Ponnelle's traditional presentation of the opera.
