Larry Burrows (James Belushi) is unhappy, obsessing over a belief that his entire life could have turned out differently had he not missed that crucial hit in a high school baseball game. One night he meets a mysterious man (Michael Caine) who offers him the life he dreams of. But, as Burrows embarks on a journey of self-discovery in his alternate life, he soon realizes that the ideals he once glorified also have their drawbacks.
