In the wake of Prohibition, violent gangsters are finding work as racketeers and contract killers, and one particular group -- known menacingly as Murder, Inc. -- is terrorizing Brooklyn with a vengeance. Can a lone courageous police officer (Henry Morgan) bring down one of the most ruthless groups of criminals in history? Peter Falk co-stars in one of his earliest film roles, a performance that earned him his first of two Oscar nominations.
