Marlon Brando gives a nuanced performance as the aristocratic Lt. Fletcher Christian, an officer aboard the HMS Bounty who leads a mutiny against the ship's tyrannical Capt. Bligh (Trevor Howard). Featuring lush cinematography of the story's spectacular Tahitian setting and a stirring musical score, director Lewis Milestone's 1962 interpretation of the classic novel was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
