It's 1947, and the winter snow has all but concealed the aged estate Nancherrow. The master of the house has passed away, and grief has overcome his wife, Diana Carey-Lewis (Joanna Lumley). Despite the hardships that have come upon the family, their daughter, Loveday, is determined to keep the property afloat. But her struggle to save her marriage and a minute of passion could prove costly in her resolve to keep Nancherrow alive.
