Billy Ray Cyrus hosts the sixth season of this reality show competition, as another group of talented unknowns and up-and-coming musicians takes to the stage in Nashville, hoping to become the next great country music phenomenon. The performers are evaluated by a panel of veteran musicians, including Jewel, but are eliminated based on votes from viewers nationwide, until only one singer-songwriter is left to be crowned Nashville Star.
