Police inspector Amar, the only son of Jogindar Nath, married against his father's wishes and was disowned by his family. When smuggler Jagan Nath kills Amar and his wife, however, their loyal driver, Abdul, saves their child and delivers her to Jogindar, who takes the child in. As Jyoti grows up, her life seems to be on the right track -- though this doesn't mean life will be a bed of roses for the man who marries her.
