A speeding train transports a diverse group of passengers -- along with their innermost secrets -- in this thought-provoking Bollywood drama directed by Satyajit Ray. At the center of it all is a popular movie star (Uttam Kumar) who's normally glib with the press but decides to speak freely with a naive young reporter (Sharmila Tagore). Will she use the information to further her own career, or will she ultimately keep it to herself?
