In this expose of the torture rife in 19th century London jails, prison warden John Meadows (Tod Slaughter) whips and starves his inmates and keeps them in straitjackets. He also lusts after pretty Susan Merton (Marjorie Taylor), but she loves George Fielding (Ian Colin). As George toils in Australia to earn enough cash to wed Susan, Meadows coerces her into marrying him -- then learns that the now-rich George is headed home. Uh-oh …
