Neverwhere

Londoner Richard Mayhew's (Gary Bakewell) life as he knows it ends swiftly -- and somewhat unexpectedly -- when he tries to help a hapless stranger and immediately ceases to exist in the mortal world, joining the citizens of London Below. Neil Gaiman, author of such disparate but equally impressive works as the novel American Gods and DC Comics's "Sandman" series, created this six-episode series that was first broadcast by the BBC.
