In this anime series, giant monsters that evoke the ancient legends of Oni have descended upon Earth and have begun to attack the top secret facility in which Dr. Saotome has been hard at work creating an all-powerful robot. Known as Getter Robo, the machine is so technologically advanced that there's no opponent it can't triumph over. But the robot isn't finished yet, so Dr. Saotome recruits three young pilots to help battle the invaders.
