One of director Atom Egoyan's first films, Next of Kin is a stunning example of how Egoyan dealt with his main obsessions -- sex, dysfunctional families and video -- as a young director. The story follows the travails of Peter, a man who impersonates a family's long-lost son after seeing a film about their search for the child they gave up for adoption.
