Jazz impresario Norman Granz presents a cornucopia of great performances from many giants of the art form: Charlie Parker, Coleman Hawkins, Ella Fitzgerald, Lester Young, Hank Jones, Dizzy Gillespie, Oscar Peterson, Duke Ellington, Buddy Rich, Joe Pass and others. The material, some of it previously unseen, spans from 1950 to 1977. Also included is a featurette profile of Granz, narrated by the great jazz critic and columnist Nat Hentoff.
