American flyboy Tom Ferris (Tony Curtis) wins the heart of a beautiful Italian nurse during the Korean War, but only after convincing her that his romantic rival (and fellow flier) has been killed in a plane crash. Fast-forward 14 years, when the happy couple receives a visit from none other than the presumed dead pilot. George C. Scott plays the thwarted lothario set on resuming his aborted courtship in this Golden Globe-nominated comedy.
