Fresh from fighting fascists in the mountains, Ossorio Vignale (Pascale Greggory) arrives in his hometown late one night, hoping to find the woman he loves, Clara, so they can escape the dictatorial regime together. But Clara is missing. Finding the town overrun by a violent militia, Ossorio must stay in the shadows as he tries to locate Clara. As he searches, he discovers that two of the three escape boats are missing, along with his tickets.
