Oliver's Travels

Having lost his job at the university where he taught, Oliver (Alan Bates) plans to visit a crossword puzzle writer he once met. But he soon discovers the scribe is missing, which prompts him to embark on an investigation of his own design. Luckily, Oliver has the cooperation of Diane (Sinéad Cusack), a female cop who aspires to greatness and accompanies him on his many subsequent adventures. Before long, sparks begin to fly between them.
