When four of her friends meet an untimely demise after receiving chilling cell-phone messages from the future detailing their deaths, college co-ed Beth (Shannyn Sossamon) contacts the police -- who promptly dismiss her story as hysteria. But one cop -- Detective Jack Andrews (Edward Burns) -- who lost his sister after a similar phone call vows to help Beth ferret out the killer … before her number is up for good.
