Opera Australia: The Mikado

Gilbert and Sullivan's 1885 comic opera receives a magnificent production by the Australian Opera, with exquisite sets and costumes that uniquely blend the piece's Japanese setting with its decidedly London-based roots. Accompanied by the London Symphony Orchestra and Ambrosian Opera Chorus, William Conrad gives a stellar performance in his starring role as the Mikado, alongside co-stars Anne Maree McDonald, Peter Cousens and Graeme Ewer.
