Shot in television documentary style -- complete with "behind-the-scenes" footage and "interviews" -- Federico Fellini explores the turmoil of post-World War II society through the travails of symphony musicians. The stylishly witty satire is a fictionalized look at the daily routine of a symphony orchestra as they prepare for a concert, bicker with one another and rail against their belligerent conductor.
