This superb BBC miniseries chronicles the life and military career of Orde Wingate (Barry Foster), an unconventional and controversial British World War II commander. Born in India to a devout religious family, Wingate served in Palestine, where he developed new techniques for guerrilla warfare. But off the battlefield, severe manic depression haunted the courageous maverick. James Cosmo and Denholm Elliott co-star in this gripping historical drama.
