In this Japanese romance based on a short story by Masuji Ibuse, Osamura (Chishu Ryu), a battered soldier on a retreat at a resort, meets Emi (Kinuyo Tanaka) after he cuts his foot on her hairpin. The attraction is instant, but can their affair last beyond a vacation weekend? Acclaimed filmmaker Hiroshi Shimizu directs this poignant and playful romance co-starring Tatsuo Saito and Hiroko Kawasaki.
