Shakespeare's classic tale of love wrecked by jealousy and power is updated for the modern age in this exquisite PBS "Masterpiece Theatre" production. John Othello (Eamonn Walker) is London's first black police commissioner. Ben Jago had expected the appointment. Bitterly disappointed not to have gotten the job and seeking revenge, Jago decides to take advantage of John's extreme devotion to his wife, Dessie, to defeat him.
